Birding Spots
The following are a few of the spots that I have birded that are easily accesible without the need for a tour guide and are not over-busy.
BELIZE
Highway Birding
With the obvious caveat of BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, there are generally safe spots to pull off the roads safely along the following roads.
Western Highway (between Belize City and Belmopan)
Spanish Lookout Area - Center Road , WNW on Iguanas Creek Rd to Ant Trail Rd (S), then (W) on Riverside Rd., (N) on Baltimore Drive and Right (N) on Center Rd. (Check out Western Dairies ice cream)
Pook's Hill Rd. (Dirt) between Teakettle and ATM/Pook's Hill junction.
Chiquibul Rd between Georgeville and Slate Creek Lookout Trail

Archeological Zones
Muyil - 15-minute drive from Tulum, yet generally very quiet
Cobá - 45-minute drive from Tulum, moderately busy with excellent birding
Calakmul Entrance Station (1st of 3) - Southern Campeche, accessed via a 60 km dirt road, OUTSTANDING BIRDING
Tulum (Extremely Busy)
Chichen Itza (Extremely Busy)
